What's Wrong With Athletes?

Professional athletes, like the Redskins' Sean Taylor, make millions to play a game. Why do they constantly screw this up?

Poorly behaved pro athletes are Under Review

I've had it with guys like the Washington Redskins Sean Taylor . Taylor recently wiggled his way out of trouble with the law, when he negotiated a plea bargain to do community service, rather than spend 46 years in a federal pen for slugging a citizen and pulling a gun.

United States judges need to clamp down on guys like Taylor and other pro athletes in his class. Guys that simply don't know how to appreciate their talent, as well as the millions they receive for playing a game that people like you and me enjoy participating in, just for fun.

If it's not Minnesota Vikings players on a sex cruise one minute, it's Ron Artest grappling with fans in the stands the next.

What irks me most, though, is not the actions themselves; it's the ridiculous consequences, or lack thereof, that these guys receive. Here's a newsflash for the judges in the land: professional athletes are not above the law.

Handing down some sick sentence like 40 hours of community service in a local high school is tantamount to patting the player on the behind and saying, "Let's not do that again."

These horrible sentences are sending the wrong message to the athletes and to the rest of America. It's got to change sooner than later.
